We are proud to be partnering with In A Heartbeat, a local nonprofit organization, to host a screening event and offer FREE ECG’s (electrocardiograms) to anyone ages 10-19.
Why should your child receive a FREE ECG?
• 7,000 youth each year suffer from sudden cardiac arrest;
• An ECG Can detect possible heart disease such as Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, Long QT Syndrome,
Wolff-Parkinsons–White; and
• An ECG is a quick, simple, painless test that can SAVE LIVES.
In A Heartbeat founder Mike Papale was 17-years old when he went into sudden cardiac arrest and was
lucky to survive. He was later diagnosed with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and did not have his first ECG
until after his cardiac arrest. His ECG is VERY abnormal. If he had gotten an ECG prior to his cardiac arrest,
he would have not been in a life or death situation like he was when he was 17!
